Bring to lab each week:
- Lab manual or appropriate pages from the lab manual
- Notebook for data and background material required for written assignments.
- Clothing appropriate for the exercise of the week, i.e. dress properly for outdoor work when we will be outdoors. Proper attire will be discussed prior to each exercise and will depend, in part, on the weather. Hats and beat-up shoes are always a good idea for fieldwork.
Laboratory Grade:
The laboratory grade represents 25% of the final grade and will be determined from nine assignments that will include brief data reports, abstracts, and one full lab report.
Full lab report (1) 20%
Data reports (5) 10% each
Abstracts (3) 10% each
(Total = 25% of final grade) 100%
All written assignments must be completed on a word processor and handed-in as a hard copy, unless an electronic version is specifically requested by the instructor. Documentation (references and citations), when required must be in the APA format (see Hacker for details). Each assignment should have a cover sheet with the title, your name, your lab section, the date and the honor code pledge, followed by your signature.
Laboratory attendance:
Laboratory attendance is mandatory. Unexcused absence from a lab, or missed work that is not made up, will result in a reduction of 10% from the final course grade. See the Attendance Policy on the lecture syllabus for details.
